eBay Bans Digital Products

You heard it right. As of today, digital items (downloadable goods such as ebooks, etc.) can no longer be listed in eBay auctions. They can only be sold through eBay classifieds.

It’s definitely a wake up call for those who use digital products as list builders. It does have an upside, though; it should all but eliminate the “One Centers” that throw any and all ebooks / software up for a penny.

Let’s make another positive out of this.

Digital products can easily be put on physical media and fulfilled through the mail. This adds perceived value to any digital product.

If you’re going to take action and start sending out CD or DVD products, you owe it to yourself to learn how to do it RIGHT though – a regular CDRW in a white paper sleeve with magic marker writing just isn’t going to cut it – you need to make it look good.

You can use http://www.Lulu.com to make the product and sleeve all jazzy.

If you don’t want to be the creator and fulfillment house, there are companies who can handle the mailing for you. http://www.SwiftCD.com is one of them.

If you are looking for a great head start on putting your digital product into the physical world (Including how to make cool CD/DVD menus, how to integrate email list forms, how to make the project look the best it can look), you owe it to yourself to check out Digital Media Solution. You’ll get some great videos, templates, and more to get a jump on your competition.

Take this as a positive thing and take action now!
