Secret Affiliate Code review

Posted by Dave on Sunday, 22 June, 2008

SKILL LEVEL: NEWBIE TO INTERMEDIATE
RATING: EXCELLENT

I’ve bought lots of “how to do affiliate marketing” products in my lifetime. Some from relative unknowns, others from the cornerstones of affiliate marketing (such as Rosalind Gardner).

I learned about the Secret Affiliate Code on Earn1KaDay. I took a look at the sales page, and I originally thought that it was another dime-a-dozen affiliate marketing guide. So, I didn’t think twice about it.

Well, for some reason (I think it was because I kept seeing the author, Craig, post tidbits inside Earn1KaDay) I kept going back to that salespage. It looked good, and the price point was $67 – less than I’ve paid for other products. (I got it for $47 – there’s a $20 discount for the first 1000 buyers if you find the special link on the page to click). I had not read any reviews anywhere, so I was going into it with neutral opinions, just what I had learned from the sales page. With the money back guarantee, I figured I’d give it a shot.

I was presented with an OTO that I skipped. Now that I’ve gotten the product, I wish I had gotten it. I only downloaded the videos and the couple of ebooks that come with the package; I have not yet downloaded the bonus MP3 interviews with marketing greats (Willie Crawford, Eric Rockefeller, more).

The skill level required to follow along with the author is definitely fundamental – everything is explained. He takes the reader step by step through setting up affiliate promotions with tools such as Squidoo, Hubpages, Wordpress, Blogger, Wikidot, and much more. When the author says to forget any methods of affiliate marketing that you may know, he means it. This is literally a step-by-step, with plenty of screenshots and insider “fill in the gaps” information. Inside are multi-layer methods to begin domination of the search engines, and Craig explores tools and methods that I have never seen nor heard of before.

This is a very well planned out product. I honestly don’t see how anyone, regardless of their skill level, could not take this, learn it, and start finding and profiting from affiliate promotions in relatively short order.

What’s Going On Lately

Posted by Dave on Saturday, 14 June, 2008

So it has been a little while since I posted. I’ve actually been up to some things, and I wanted to share them with you!

I signed up with and have been spending a lot of time on the Earn1KaDay site. I have to be completely honest here; I’ve learned more there in the couple of weeks I have been a member than I have in YEARS on other forums. It is a smaller group (not quite 700 members now), and TONS more focused than anything I have ever seen before. I have more confidence and clarity in my direction. I finally feel truly connected to a group of people who have a common goal; do IM full time. It IS a paid forum, and for good reason. Before you balk at that, think about how many ebooks and videos and whatnot you buy in a month, then compare the cost of that to Earn1KaDay. You’ll most likely be shocked at the difference. I know I was! Here’s a secret – you know the cool WSO’s at the Warrior Forum? A lot of them are available inside Earn1KaDay – so quit scattering your money around and focus!

I also just recently bought in to a new challenge that Matt and John Rhodes (of SimpleCashBlog fame) are putting on. 100 Days to $100 a Day Blog Challenge. It cost me $127 to get in, but I feel I’m up to it. There are some areas that they are going to cover that are outside my “comfort zone”, such as article writing. I’m terrible at article writing. I am determined to make this work – and if the Brothers Rhodes will permit me, I’ll post a synopsis of the course here as I go. Hold on…

Just got back from the mailbox. Got a check from SFI (I love commissions!), some MRR videos on a CD that I ordered – I’ll make them available to you, and a box of business cards that I ordered.
Side note: have you ever ordered cards from VistaPrint? This Link will get you up to 75 percent off, if you do it before the end of July. I recommend having business cards. I usually choose one of their designs and modify it with my logo – that way it is not very expensive. I don’t recommend their free cards for a business – they are everywhere. Spend a couple of bucks and do it right.

OK, I think that is enough for now. I’m going to spend some time with my family. Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there!

Cpanel Backup – video

Posted by Dave on Saturday, 7 June, 2008

I recently had an issue with my hosting provider, where I lost all of the files in one of my domains. Fortunately, Cpanel makes it easy to run a backup. Here’s a video on how to do it!

Matched.co.uk – good or bad?

Posted by Dave on Saturday, 7 June, 2008

You’ve probably gotten wind of this by now. There is a site that will let you place ads on your site and they pay you up to $150 a month just to show the ad. The site is Matched.co.uk.

The offer sounds pretty good. If you have a niche site, they will match advertisers to your site and give you ad code to place on it. They’ll pay you just to place the ad code, apparently not taking into consideration any traffic, backlinks, etc. you may or may not have.

Dennis Becker at Earn1KaDay came across some information at Ripoff Report and Digital Point that might make you think twice about Matched.co.uk. Take a look and judge for yourself.

Just a caveat for those who might think this is easy money. I have not personally tried out Matched.co.uk yet. I might give it a whirl and see what I can see.

Resell Rights Explained

Posted by Dave on Thursday, 5 June, 2008

Some of you have asked about the difference between “Rights” on a product, typically from an Internet Marketing forum like The Warrior Forum. So, here goes…

There are 4 major types of rights, and here they are, broken down.

1. PLR: PLR means Private Label Rights. this means that you can edit the product freely and claim it as your own. Edit the text, graphics, name, etc. This also means that you can usually convert the product into another form. If it is an eBook, you can put it on a CD and sell it as a physical product, or, you can narrate it and sell it as an audio product. TIP FOR PLR: Change as much as you can to make it look more like your own product.

2. MRR: Master Resell Rights. You can sell the product AS-IS. You cannot alter it in any way. You can allow others who buy it from you to sell it and keep the money themselves (Resell Rights).

3. RR: Resell Rights. You can sell the product AS-IS, You cannot alter it in any way. Your customers have only personal rights to the product.

4. Personal Rights. You can read/watch/listen to/use the product. You CANNOT resell it at all.

Each product that you purchase (especially from the forum mentioned above) SHOULD have a rights.txt file or similar with it, outlining exactly what you can and cannot do with the product. If it does NOT have the rights.txt file, you should request it from the author.

Till next time!
