E1KaD Las Vegas Review Part 2
Well, I guess I have egg on my face now – what was supposed to be a few days turned into…umm…a month and a half. Sorry about that. I guess I got wrapped up in “doing”. So, when we last left our hero, he was talking about a short rundown of all the speakers and their topics at the Earn1KaDay conference in Las Vegas. Here’s part 2 of 3…
Day 1 – Saturday, May 22
First up were the Rhodes Brothers, Matt and John. They are very well known in the internet marketing world; runnign websites such as SimpleCashBlog and IMSimple, among many others. They spoke about systems and outsourcing to make hands-off cashflow. They covered principles of outsourcing, where to find the right workers, the principles of systems and their creation, then a discussion on combining systems and outsourcing – knowing why your system will work in addition to how. John has a very strong head for business and analysis – he went into detail about building specific systems to essentially replace you in your business. They provided an all inclusive takeaway – a practically complete business plan that incorporates building a system and outsourcing the work.
The second presenter was Steven Resell. Steven’s kind of a quiet guy, but his sites are packed with incredible information on affiliate blogging; which was the topic of his presentation, Undercover Affiliate Marketing. He explained what affiliate blogging was all about and how to do affiliate marketing by creating assets – a website with original content. I felt like nothing was left out and had quite a bit of takeaway from his presentation. I was fortunate to get to spend time with Steven that weekend. The guy’s got integrity all over him.
Next up was Tim Castleman, someone whom I’ve quickly come to admire and respect. His presentation, “How to get #1 in Google in 34 days and for less than $100″ was a live, step by step implementation of exactly the process he used to get in Google. He took a business (one of the attendees’ businesses) and did all the steps to get them listed in Google. Now, if you watch the seminar videos, I’m the one that got the chair massage and provided a testimonial. Damn that massage felt good… if I lived in Vegas I would certainly be a repeat client! Tim has a method of content delivery that will keep you laughing, and glued to the material at the same time. I spent quite a bit of time with Tim during the conference, and he is definitely the real deal.
Up Next, Leanne King, the WordPress Queen. She joined us from Australia…and despite bouts with food poisoning on the flight, she was a trooper all weekend. Her presentation was ALL about WordPress and getting it to do what you want it to do – over and over again. And I learned that there wasn’t much that WordPress can’t do. It added considerable knowledge to what I learned at the 2009 Earn1KaDay seminar when Ron Davies covered WordPress.
Last but definitely NOT least for the Saturday lineup was Earn1KaDay‘s newest partner, Rachel Rofe. “Outsourcing – Perils, Pitfalls, and Best Practices” was an in-depth view of outsourcing work. It expanded on what the Rhodes Brothers covered in the morning session. She has a LOT of experience with outsourcing; she launched an outsourcing website called Burn Your To Do List and went through all the trials and tribulations of outsourcing. And, as I’ve heard a lot of what went on with it – if something bad could have happened, it did – and Rachel took it all in stride.
Tomorrow, I’ll sit down and cover day 2… equally as awesome as day 1. Stay tuned!
